No results found.An FAO/WFP Crop and Food Security Assessment Mission (CFSAM) conducted an analysis from 7 to 16 December 2020 to estimate the cereal production in South Sudan during 2020, based on a review of data and information collected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS). The Mission also reviewed secondary data from a variety of sources in order to produce an overview of the overall food security situation in the country. Due to COVID-19‑related travel restrictions, the analysis was performed remotely through several video‑conferences with relevant staff of the FAO Office in South Sudan. The CFSAM reviewed the findings of several Crop Assessment Missions conducted at harvest time from August, following the removal of COVID‑19‑related travel restrictions, to December 2020, in different agro‑ecological zones of the country. -

No results found.A joint FAO/WFP Crop and Food Security Mission (CFSAM) visited the Syrian Arab Republic between 25 June and 19 July 2018 to estimate crop production and to assess the overall food security situation. On arrival in the country, the international members of the CFSAM team spent five days in Damascus prior to going to the field. During that time, they held meetings with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform (MAAR) and a number of other relevant ministries and state bodies of the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic. Following two weeks of data collection in the field in six governorates, the CFSAM team returned to Damascus to be briefed by MAAR officials who had collected further data independently in all governorates, and, most importantly, in governorates that the international team had been unable to visit. This was followed by a second round of meetings with the main technical directorates of MAAR. Prior to departure from the country, the Mission briefed the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform on its main findings. -

No results found.A joint FAO/WFP Crop and Food Security Assessment Mission (CFSAM), at the requested of the Government of Madagascar, visited the country from 24 July to 11 August 2017, following weather shocks that negatively adversely affected the 2016/17 agricultural campaign. The Mission’s remit was to evaluate the factors impacting on agricultural production, estimate the national cereal output and assess the overall food and nutrition security situation. The Mission benefited from the technical and logistical support from the Directorate of Information Systems (DIS) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock attached to the Office of the President.

This poster follows up on the ASF Animation "Be a Champion Farmer" and is part of the FAO/PIE Regional campaign to raise awareness on African Swine Fever and promote good biosecuiry practices in the farm. -
