No results found.Utilising a baseline greenhouse layer prepared by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 2021 and very high-resolution satellite imagery, the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) updated the baseline for 2023, prior to the recent conflict escalation, and conducted an assessment of the area and number of greenhouses in the Gaza Strip. A thorough evaluation of damage to greenhouses was performed, comparing pre-conflict imagery with very high-resolution WorldView-2 imagery from 29 September and 5 October 2025, and WorldView-3 imagery from 22 September 2025. -

No results found.A cropland mask was prepared using very high-resolution satellite data from SPOT and Pléiades and high-resolution data from Sentinel-2 to analyse the damage to cropland. Sentinel-2 data from the month of April from 2018 to 2024 was used as a baseline for comparison with April 2025 data to conduct cropland change analysis of the cropland mask area. -

No results found.Utilising a baseline agricultural wells layer and very high-resolution satellite imagery, FAO conducted an assessment of the number of agricultural wells damaged in the Gaza Strip as a result of the recent conflict escalation. The number of damaged agricultural wells was calculated based on their location within a 15-meter radius area around a damaged site. The damage was estimated using multiple Sentinel-1 SAR imagery and overlaying the agricultural wells layer with the damage layer (damage proxy map) from 30 April 2025.

In addition to FAOSTYLE in six languages, this guidance also includes: "Publishing policy", providing high-level guidance aimed at those involved in the creation or approval of a publishing plan; "Authorship and plagiarism guidelines", outlining the principles and criteria for authorship of FAO publications; "Graphic design guidelines", focusing on the practical application of FAO's visual identity and design standards; “Responsible use of AI in publishing”, covering how to use AI responsibly and ethically when producing a publication; “Open Access policy”, a summary of the policy that encourages the wide use, reproduction and dissemination of the intellectual property that FAO produces; and "Digital publishing", guidance on how to create a digital (HTML) publication. Publishing at FAO is a living document and will continue to evolve as publishing practices evolve. A new section on managing a publishing project is forthcoming. Last updated June 2025. -
