2022Тихоокеанские острова – это кладезь биоразнообразия. Морские и сухопутные экосистемы Азиатско-Тихоокеанского региона, где суша занимает менее двух процентов площади, богаче и разнообразнее других экосистем планеты. Тесно взаимосвязанные между собой биоразнообразие и экосистемные услуги обеспечивают аграрному сектору разностороннюю поддержку, способствуют укреплению источников средств к существованию и благополучию производителей. При этом, однако, ускоряющийся переход от традиционных систем сельскохозяйственного производства к более интенсивным порождает угрозы для богатого биоразнообразия стран и территорий тихоокеанских островов (СТТО), для знаний, от которых зависит выживание местных общин и коренных народов. Большая часть СТТО предприняла важные шаги, призванные переломить негативные тенденции, интегрировав вопросы сохранения и устойчивого использования биоразнообразия в национальные стратегии, однако практически повсеместно отсутствует потенциал, необходимый для реализации таких мер, не созданы необходимые координационные механизмы. Существует однозначная необходимость в более системном и скоординированном подходе ключевых секторов и заинтересованных сторон в вопросах устойчивого управления использованием биоразнообразия для производства продовольствия и ведения сельского хозяйства в Азиатско-Тихоокеанском регионе. Совместно с членами Организации и региональными партнерами ФАО на всех уровнях – от формирования политических решений до конкретных действий на местах – ведет работу по наращиванию потенциала и расширению сотрудничества, призванную послужить укреплению устойчивого управления использованием биоразнообразия для производства продовольствия и ведения сельского хозяйства. В настоящем документе рассматриваются предпринятые усилия и существующие возможности для содействия переходу к сельскому хозяйству с опорой на экосистемы, обеспечивающему восстановление природных ресурсов -

2019The FAO Animal Production and Health Commission for Asia and the Pacific (APHCA) was initiated by Asian nations at the Fifth FAO Regional Conference on Animal Production in 1974. APHCA’s mission is to enhance levels of nutrition and standards of living of livestock keepers, livestock producers and livestock value-chain actors through equitable, sustainable and safe livestock-sector development. Furthermore, APHCA supports sustainable improvement in rural livestock, agriculture and resource use through information sharing and capacity development for members. Some of the most important areas addressed by APHCA relate to the development of climate-smart livestock, dairy production, animal feeding, transboundary animal and zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance. APHCA has also been instrumental in the establishment of Dairy Asia.

No results found.This report illustrates the food loss assessment studies undertaken along the maize, sunflower and beans supply chains in Uganda in 2015-16 and 2016-17. They aimed to identify the critical loss points in the selected supply chains, the key stages at which food losses occur, why they occur, the extent and impact of food losses and the economic, social and environmental implications of the food losses. Furthermore, these studies also evaluated the feasibility of potential interventions to reduce food losses and waste. -

No results found.The Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA) was established at COP23 to address six topics in the agricultural sector's role in climate change. KJWA has contributed to sharing scientific and technical knowledge, but limitations remain in translating outcomes into concrete climate actions. The new four-year joint work on the implementation of climate action on agriculture and food security, which prioritizes ending hunger and considers national circumstances, includes the creation of an online portal for sharing information. The four-year agenda is shaped and broadened through the submission of views by parties, observers, and civil society and will be considered by SBSTA and SBI in June 2023.
