The Impact Of Management Training On The Performance Of Marketing Officers In State Fisheries Corporations - BOBP/WP/22

Abstract

This paper reports the findings of an investigation on the impact of two training courses on fish marketing management held for fisheries officials of Tamil Nadu (December 1979) and Andhra Pradesh (November 1980). Participants of the two courses were interviewed in April 1981 as part of the investigation. The courses (held in cooperation with the Governments of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh respectively), the investigation into their impact, and the paper produced as a result of the investi gation, are activities of the Project for Small-Scale Fisheries Development of the Bay of Bengal Programme. It is executed by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and funded by the Swedish International Development Authority (SIDA). It covers five countries bordering the Bay of Bengal — Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand. Its main aims are to develop, demonstrate and promote appropriate technologiesand methodologies to improve the conditions of small-sc ale fisherfolk and the supply of fish in the small-scale sector in the five member countries.
