    This review was carried out to assess the history of fire policies, the state of current fire policies and institutional framework. Content analysis was conducted on policies, laws and by‐laws so as to identify coverage on fire issues. A desk review was conducted to assess the status and practices of fire management activities and related institutions in Tanzania.
