    In 2021, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) and FAO signed the Letter of Agreement (LoA) on the provision of technical support and assistance in the organization of the regional expert consultations, developing the draft project frameworks, concept notes, and pilot project documents (regional and national), conducting training sessions for researchers, agriculture and extension specialists from pilot countries; and contributing to the promotion of Special Agricultural Products (SAPs) and green technologies in the framework of the Global Action on Green Development of Special Agricultural Products: “One Country One Priority Product” (OCOP)”. Through the collaboration with FAO, the Plant Production and Protection Division (NSP) and Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) organized three training sessions on 28-30 November 2022, devoted to the promotion of a green value chain of field crops, fruit crops and horticultural crops produced in the tropics. The training sessions will serve as a forum to share the knowledge and experiences in sustainable tropical agriculture, lessons learned by China in promoting the SAPs, food value chain and other tropical technologies with trainees from the developing countries.
