Synopsis (short abstract) Dieses Handbuch wurde von der OECD und der FAO entwickelt, um Unternehmen dabei zu unterstützen, Überlegungen zu Abholzung und Waldschädigung in ihre unternehmerischen Sorgfaltspflichten zu integrieren. Es basiert auf der umfangreichen Arbeit und Erfahrung der FAO zur Eindämmung von Abholzung und Waldschädigung sowie zur Förderung einer verantwortungsvollen Landnutzungsverwaltung. Das Handbuch basiert auf den führenden internationalen, staatlich geförderten Standards für Sorgfaltspflichten in Lieferketten und verantwortungsvolles unternehmerisches Handeln: den OECD-Leitsätzen für multinationale Unternehmen und dem zugehörigen Sorgfaltspflichtrahmen, der in den OECD-FAO-Leitlinien für verantwortungsvolle landwirtschaftliche Lieferketten und den OECD-Leitlinien für die Sorgfaltspflicht für verantwortungsvolles unternehmerisches Handeln festgelegt ist. Dieses Handbuch zeigt, wie die OECD-FAO-Leitlinien zur Bekämpfung von Abholzung angewendet werden können, indem es bestehende Empfehlungen kontextualisiert und Nutzer auf hilfreiche Informationsquellen zur Sorgfaltspflicht verweist.
