Пути к достижению устройчивого развития с учетом значения лесов
2018Почти три года назад мировые лидеры приняли Повестку дня Организации Объединенных Наций в области устойчивого развития на период до 2030 года, предусматривающую 17 целей в области устойчивого развития (ЦУР), которая является основным механизмом, определяющим политику в области развития во всем мире. Это издание доклада “Состояние лесов мира” призвано расширить наше понимание того, как леса и устойчивое управление ими способствуют достижению ряда ЦУР. Времени осталось мало, но лесам планеты еще можно помочь – для этого необходимо применять межсекторальные подходы, объединять усилия различных заинтересованных сторон и принимать срочные меры. В публикации предлагаются меры, призванные более полно раскрыть потенциал лесов и деревьев и тем самым ускорить достижение ЦУР. Крайне важно повышать эффективность взаимодействия с частным сектором; кроме того, необходимы преобразования неформального лесного сектора, позволяющие получить более всеобъемлющие экономические, социальные и экологические выгоды. Семьдесят лет назад ФАО провела свою первую оценку лесных ресурсов мира; на тот момент основной вопрос заключался в том, сможем ли мы обеспечить заготовку леса в достаточных объемах для удовлетворения глобального спроса; за прошедшее время к нам пришло осознание того, что наши леса и деревья играют намного более масштабную роль. В докладе “Состояние лесов мира – 2018” впервые изложены результаты всеобъемлющей оценки значения лесов и деревьев для наших ландшафтов и источников средств к существованию. Цель этой публикации состоит в том, чтобы донести информацию о важности лесов и деревьев для людей, планеты и последующих поколений до самой широкой аудитории.кой аудитории. -

However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats. -
