dc.description.abstract The nfp-update provides factual information about national forest policy, legislation, institutions and the National Forest Programme (NFP) process, including mechanisms for stakeholders’ participation, capacity building initiatives, etc. It is primarily targeted to serve in-country stakeholders and others interested in the forestry sector; and is structured in four sections: (i) Forest policy information, covering policy statement/documents, main objectives of the NFP, guiding principles or ins truments for policy implementation, and forest economy and finance; (ii) Forest legislation, with forest laws, acts and codes at centralized and decentralized levels whenever applicable; (iii) Institutional framework, showing public and non-public forestry institutions; and (iv) NFP Process, with indicators on its different phases (analysis, policy formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).
