Well- planned and managed ComDev activities are crucial to ensure stakeholder engagement, and should be considered in project design, in order to enhance impact and ownership of rural development initiatives. The Communication for Rural Development Guidelines for P lanning and Project Formulation provide development planners with practical orientation on how to plan and monitor ComDev activities as part of the project cycle, so that overall effectiveness and sustainability may be improved.
