    The Multicountry Programming Framework for the Pacific Islands (Pacific CPF) 2023–2027 is a strategic plan designed by the FAO to drive agrifood systems transformation and rural development in the Pacific Islands. It builds upon the achievements and lessons learned from the previous 2018–2022 Pacific CPF, emphasizing stakeholder engagement, programmatic approach, and sustainability. Derived from the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for the Pacific Islands (Pacific UNSDCF) 2023–2027, the Pacific CPF aligns with FAO's commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and focuses on key SDGs such as Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Life below Water (SDG 14), and Life on Land (SDG 15). By leveraging partnerships and prioritizing sustainable practices, this framework aims to address the unique challenges faced by the Pacific Islands and contribute to their long-term development.

    As part of the SIDS Solutions Forum, 30-31 August 2021, FAO collected innovations and creative digital technologies that respond to local problems and challenges. The use of digital technologies in the agriculture and fisheries sectors of the Pacific is still in its infancy. As a result, farmers in SIDS, especially those in remote locations, have difficulties accessing actors along the value chain and in international markets. This flyer presents a platform for agriculture value chain stakeholders to connect with one another, and access information as well as simple digital tools for improved farm management.

    Pacific Small Island Countries (PICs) are unique in terms of geographical location, isolated and have limited diversity of food. Fish is the main source of protein. Although the amount and type of fish consumed varies based on factors such as geographical location and socio-economic status. Average national fish consumption ranges between 55 kg to 110 kg per person per year. This is almost 3–6 times the average global consumption of <20 kg per person per year. There are few challenges including limited data on fish consumption trend, poor cold chain management, depletion of fish resources and food safety.
