Synopsis (short abstract) This is the second Annual Report of the FAO Ombuds, covering the first full calendar year of operation. During this period, the focus was on three main areas: addressing work-related concerns brought forward by individuals or groups of personnel; analyzing the root causes of conflict to identify systemic issues for positive organizational change; and raising awareness about the Office and the benefits of collaborative approaches to conflict resolution. The role of the Ombuds is to support a culture at FAO that is respectful and civil, and in which mutual understanding can be reached and differences resolved, through dialogue and fair processes. The Ombuds provides a confidential, neutral and impartial forum to help promote accountability and fair treatment.
