dc.description.abstract Rice and wheat prices in Kathmandu stabilized at very high levels in recent months, particularly constraining access to markets of low income people. Food security conditions remain severe in spite of the 2010 increased production. Different agencies agree on localized food insecurity and according to WFP some 3.7 million people are at risk of food insecurity. The new constitution, due in May 2011, is critical in order to complete the peace process and achieve the country's political stabi lity for the next general elections in 2012. The Government is providing input subsidies to support producers.
