Synopsis (short abstract) This evaluation represents the first comprehensive, independent evaluation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ (FAO’s) technical cooperation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The evaluation was conducted at the request of the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MoEWA), formerly known as the Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of FAO’s Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa.

The evaluation is intended to provide accountability and to draw lessons that could inform future cooperation activities. In particular, it will assess the achievements of the FAO/KSA Technical Cooperation Programme at strategic, technical, operational and management levels, and examine how FAO exercised its comparative advantage through guidance given by the FAO’ RNE, SNG, and FAO headquarters.
