NewsletterNewsletterالرسالة الإخبارية رقم 5 من يناير/ تشرين الثاني إلى يونيو/ حزيران 2021 2021في إفريقيا الساحلية، تعد الطيور المائية - المهاجرة أو المقيمة على حدّ سواء - وسيلة لكسب الرزق ومصدر دخل للمجتمعات المحلية. لكن في ظلّ تأثير المشترك للعديد من العوامل، تقلصت مساحة الأراضي الرطبة الكبرى في الساحل تدريجياً. ويترتب على هذه التغييرات في الموائل وممارسات الصيد تأثير كبير على الطيور المائية في الساحل. إذ يُقدّر أنّ عددها قد انخفض بنسبة 04 في المئة بين عامي 1960 و 2000 ويهدف مشروع “تعزيز الخبرات في أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء الكبرى بشأن الطيور واستخدامها الرشيد من أجل المجتمعات والبيئة” إلى الحفاظ على خدمات النظام الإيكولوجي المتوفرة في الأراضي الرطبة في منطقة الساحل، والتي يستمد السكان منها العديد من الفوائد، من خلال تطوير أساليب مبتكرة لرصد الطيور المائية وموائلها وإدارتها بشكل مستدام. وتقوم منظمة الأغذية والزراعة بتنسيق المشروع، بتمويل مشترك من مرفق البيئة العالمية الفرنسي والاتحاد الأوروبي. ويتمّ تنفيذه في خمسة بلدان بواسطة شركاء فنيين معترف بهم لخبراتهم.

NewsletterNewsletterالرسالة الإخبارية عن الجبهات والتحالفات البرلمانية لمكافحة الجوع وسوء التغذية - ديسَمْبِر /كانون الأوَّل 2019 - العدد الثاني 2019يشكّل البرلمانيون شركاء رئيسيين في مكافحة الجوع وجميع أشكال سوء التغذية. وحينما تدعم الأطر التشريعية المناسبة البرامج التي تعالج انعدام الأمن الغذائي والتغذوي، تشهد مؤشرات التغذية تحسّنًا كبيرًا. وتقدم المنظمة الدعم إلى البرلمانيين في القيام بتعزيز أو سنّ تشريعات أو تدابير أخرى لمعالجة قضايا محددة ذات صلة بالأمن الغذائي والتغذوي؛ وفي رفع مستوى الوعي بالقضايا المذكورة أعلاه، بما في ذلك مع دوائرهم الانتخابية؛ وتوفير فضاء مخصّص للحوار والمناقشة وتبادل الآراء بشأن القضايا المتعلقة بالأمن الغذائي فيما بينهم؛ وتبادل الخبرات مع غيرهم من البرلمانيين والهيئات البرلمانية في مختلف أرجاء العالم. وتسلّط هذه الرسالة الإخبارية الضوء على آخر التطورات التشريعية في مجال مكافحة الجوع وسوء التغذية في مختلف أنحاء العالم.

No results found.There is increasing attention to the importance of biodiversity for food security and nutrition, especially above-ground biodiversity such as plants and animals. However, less attention is being paid to the biodiversity beneath our feet, soil biodiversity, which drives many processes that produce food or purify soil and water. This report is the result of an inclusive process involving more than 300 scientists from around the world under the auspices of the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership and its Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the European Commission. It presents concisely the state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, the threats to it, and the solutions that soil biodiversity can provide to problems in different fields. It also represents a valuable contribution to raising awareness of the importance of soil biodiversity and highlighting its role in finding solutions to today's global threats.
