    FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) is one of the mechanisms to respond to countries’ most pressing needs for technical assistance and effectively pursue the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2019 Report of the Technical Cooperation Programme introduces a new series of annual reports that provide FAO Members, governments, donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders with evidence of the impact of the work carried out by FAO through the TCP. Prepared by the Outreach, Marketing and Reporting Unit (PSRR), in close collaboration with the TCP Coordination Unit in the Office of the Assistant Director-General (ADG-PS), the first in the series presents and assesses the achievements and catalytic role of TCP-funded projects. Based on a review of the TCP projects operationally closed during 2018 and interviews with lead technical officers, technical officers at FAO headquarters, budget holders and FAO country representatives, the report provides details on the characteristics, typical interventions and results of the programme, and features a select number of in-depth stories to highlight the tangible and lasting results of the programme’s catalytic work.

    Опубликованный в 2019 году совместный документ "Межотраслевой подход к задаче «Единое Здоровье»: трехстороннее руководство по решению проблемы зоонозов в странах" (2019 ТРЗ), разработанный в рамках трехстороннего партнерства между ФАО, МЭБ и ВОЗ, является практическим руководством для стран по подходу «Единое Здоровье» для построения национальных механизмов межотраслевого сотрудничества, коммуникации и координации в ответ на зоонозные угрозы при контактах между животными, человеком и окружающей средой. 2019 ТРЗ поддерживает создание странами устойчивости и готовности к борьбе с эмерджентными и эндемическими зоонозами, такими как птичий грипп, бешенство, болезнь, вызываемая вирусом Эбола, и лихорадка долины Рифт, а также болезнями пищевого происхождения и устойчивыми к противомикробным препаратам, для минимизирования их негативного воздействия на здоровье, на источники средств к существованию и экономику стран. Дополнительно, 2019 ТРЗ поддерживает усилия стран по следованию Международным медико-санитарным правилам ВОЗ (2005 год), а также международным стандартам в области охраны здоровья животных, ветеринарного здравоохранения, контроля зоонозов и благополучия животных, разработанных МЭБ. 2019 ТРЗ предоставляет соответствующим министерствам и ведомствам стран уроки и передовые практики, извлеченные из опыта применения подхода "Единое здоровье" на страновом уровне, для обеспечения готовности, профилактики, выявления и реагирования на угрозы зоонозных заболеваний, а также предоставляет руководство по межотраслевому сотрудничеству, коммуникации и координации.

    The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture presents the first global assessment of biodiversity for food and agriculture worldwide. Biodiversity for food and agriculture is the diversity of plants, animals and micro-organisms at genetic, species and ecosystem levels, present in and around crop, livestock, forest and aquatic production systems. It is essential to the structure, functions and processes of these systems, to livelihoods and food security, and to the supply of a wide range of ecosystem services. It has been managed or influenced by farmers, livestock keepers, forest dwellers, fish farmers and fisherfolk for hundreds of generations. Prepared through a participatory, country-driven process, the report draws on information from 91 country reports to provide a description of the roles and importance of biodiversity for food and agriculture, the drivers of change affecting it and its current status and trends. It describes the state of efforts to promote the sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity for food and agriculture, including through the development of supporting policies, legal frameworks, institutions and capacities. It concludes with a discussion of needs and challenges in the future management of biodiversity for food and agriculture. The report complements other global assessments prepared under the auspices of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, which have focused on the state of genetic resources within particular sectors of food and agriculture.
