Synopsis (short abstract) A medium-size report that deals with the overall situation of data on fuelwood in Guinea-Bissau. The first part is a general introduction to the country's characteristics. The second part describes the country's energy sector while the following part details the situation of domestic energies. The fourth part is the study on the charcoal market in Bissau followed by a fifth chapter that states some of the problems related to fuelwood in Guinea Bissau and more precisely in West Africa. The la st part makes some global suggestions to improve the overall situation of fuelwood in the world.

    This medium-size report identifies the overall situation of data related to fuelwood in Mali. The first part is a very brief introduction to the situation in the country. The second part is a summary of the agro-ecological situation in Mali followed by a third part that identifies the principal production and consumption figures of wood energy. The fourth part is a comparison between the data made available by FAO and that collected in the field while the last part analyses the past, present a nd future trends of fuelwood use at the national and private level.

    The report presents some of the general aspects of Chad before analysing the two most important chapters of the report. First, the main characteristics of the supply of fuelwood are presented with an estimate of the potential capacity of the country to supply. The main characteristics of the demand are underlined followed by the country’s political, institutional and legislative background. Some fiscal issues are outlined followed by a description of future scenarios for demand and supply.
