No results found.This case study seeks to understand how local pastoral communities could play in the management of drought in Iran. It begins with an examination of the range of organisations that are involved in drought management in Iran. The next section focuses on the experience of the drought of 1999-2001 in the words of Qashqai pastoralists from the south of Iran. Their testimonies make a strong case for increasing the involvement of local communities in managing natural disasters that affect them. -

The PROMUCLIMA project was created to address critical challenges in 12 municipalities in western Honduras, where economic and environmental proposals were required to improve governance systems in those communities depending on forest and agroforestry resources. In addition, this context highlighted the need to support rural and Indigenous women, and youth, who were excluded from sustainable development and climate action decision-making processes.The project aimed to promote women and youth’s economic empowerment through the improvement of their knowledge and capacities, the reduction of time and efforts spent on house chores according to local plans, as well as the improvement of their access to different local, national and international markets, and the establishment of relationships with other public and private stakeholders, in order to obtain new financial opportunities. -
