No results found.La generación de estrategias de desarrollo con comunidades en los predios adquiridos por CONADI, no solo representan un desafío a la gestión de las organizaciones beneficiarias, sino también a las instituciones del Estado responsables del fomento y soporte de este proceso de gestión. Con todo, las capacidades de diálogo, de transformación de las actuales políticas públicas, de adecuación de instrumentos y programas públicos, requieren de un fuerte componente de fortalecimiento de las capacidades institucionales, que le permitan concretar estos desafíos. Por su parte, la apuesta política regional, que persigue dotar de condiciones mínimas de habitabilidad a los predios adquiridos, implementada a través del Programa de Habilitación de Predios, es sin duda el principal esfuerzo implementado a nivel regional por generar nuevas forma de gestión institucional, buscando articular la acción del Estado en pos de dotar de las condiciones de agua potable, electrificación y caminos a 200 predios a dquiridos por CONADI. -

No results found.Las Directrices voluntarias para lograr la sostenibilidad de la pesca en pequeña escala en el contexto de la seguridad alimentaria y la erradicación de pobreza (DPPE) fueron aprobadas en la Comisión de Pesca de la FAO en su reunión de Mayo del 2015. Este instrumento que por primera vez prioriza la pesca de pequeña escala frente a otros tipos de pesca, se desarrolla en un proceso mundial participativo elaborado desde los mismos pescadores artesanales en conjunto con sus organizaciones internacion ales, regionales y nacionales. En las discusiones que se han mantenido a nivel global y regional se discute que el enorme reto para la implementación de estas directrices es su implementación, que deberá de realizarse primero por los pescadores y pescadoras artesanales, sus organizaciones y el apoyo de los gobiernos y la cooperación. La implementación pasa necesariamente por conocer y divulgar la imporancia de estas Directrices para las comunidades y para la conservación y uso sostenible de los recursos marino-costeros. -

At present, there is no standard or validated set of social norms indicators for food security and nutrition, and there is a general lack of clear and practical guidance and examples of such indicators for these sectors. Seeking to contribute to filling this gap, this guide will assist with formulating indicators to measure changes in gendered social norms in the context of food security and nutrition. It also offers an initial set of example indicators that programme implementers can draw on to assess social norms change in the context of food security and nutrition programmes. It draws from existing indicators from literature and programme experiences around measuring social norms, including in other sectors, and creates original indicators as well. This guide is designed for programme formulators and implementers, and monitoring and evaluation specialists responsible for creating and implementing M&E frameworks and systems for food security, agriculture and nutrition programmes. -

Urbanization, agrifood systems transformation and healthy diets across the rural–urban continuum
2023This report provides an update on global progress towards the targets of ending hunger (SDG Target 2.1) and all forms of malnutrition (SDG Target 2.2) and estimates on the number of people who are unable to afford a healthy diet. Since its 2017 edition, this report has repeatedly highlighted that the intensification and interaction of conflict, climate extremes and economic slowdowns and downturns, combined with highly unaffordable nutritious foods and growing inequality, are pushing us off track to meet the SDG 2 targets. However, other important megatrends must also be factored into the analysis to fully understand the challenges and opportunities for meeting the SDG 2 targets. One such megatrend, and the focus of this year’s report, is urbanization. New evidence shows that food purchases in some countries are no longer high only among urban households but also among rural households. Consumption of highly processed foods is also increasing in peri-urban and rural areas of some countries. These changes are affecting people’s food security and nutrition in ways that differ depending on where they live across the rural–urban continuum. This timely and relevant theme is aligned with the United Nations General Assembly-endorsed New Urban Agenda, and the report provides recommendations on the policies, investments and actions needed to address the challenges of agrifood systems transformation under urbanization and to enable opportunities for ensuring access to affordable healthy diets for everyone.
