No results found.Based on crop results in the Southern Hemisphere and expectations of bumper harvests in several countries in the Northern Hemisphere, FAO is provisionally estimating global paddy output in 1999/2000 at 593 million tonnes, 1.9 percent more than in the previous season. By comparison, the increase in 1998/1999 was only 0.9 percent, as the season was plagued with weather-related problems in the major producing countries.
