No results found.In order for Codex Alimentarius Members to share information on the results of Genetically Modified (GM) food safety assessments, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) maintains an online database entitled “FAO GM Foods Platform. After a number of Platform members globally requested FAO to host an interactive and face-to-face forum for the members to strengthen technical dialogues and discussions on the issues of their limited experience in conducting a GM food safety assessment and regulatory capacity, a global community meeting of the FAO GM Foods Platform was organized from 10 to 13 September 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. These are the technical presentations made during the global meeting by focal/alternative focal points to the Platform, invited experts and meeting organizers during the meeting. -

The text will also discuss the importance of rural development in achieving the SDGs by identifying the current situation and the extent of change required to meet the SDGs. -

No results found.This publication presents guidelines originally published in 1985 as FAO Investment Technical Paper No. 1 and revised in 1995 as Technical Paper No. 7. This 2005 web PDF version generally follows the 1995 print edition, but includes several updated sections. These guidelines have been prepared to help in the design of agricultural investment projects in developing countries. The intended users are FAO Investment Centre staff, trainees and consultants, but much of the material may also be useful to staff in governments, financing agencies and consulting firms who are responsible for designing or appraising such projects. The guidelines address the need for projects to be conceptually coherent, relevant to national needs and capabilities, technically sound, viable in economic and financial terms, attractive to the participants, socially acceptable, and environmentally and fiscally sustainable. The publication is divided into three main parts: the first covers the principles and processes of project design, the second provides more detail on the analysis and reporting of project proposals and the third consists of a comprehensive outline for a project preparation report. A separate file contains the sample figures and tables published in the 1995 print edition. -

No results found.This update focuses on trends in trade flows for the major product groups and most important traders using the most recently available data. Data is sourced from the relevant trade statistics agency of the respective reporting country or territory. Due to differences in reporting lag, global level data will exclude any trade that had not been reported by the relevant reporting body as of the last month specified for year-to-date aggregation. Product groups are aggregated at the 6-digit Harmonized System (HS) level and will exclude any trade that is reported under other 6-digit HS codes whose commodity descriptions are insufficiently specific.
