Over the past decades, progress towards Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) in Africa has been made at national and subregionallevels. At national level, 43 African countries have developed specific forest law and 40 have a national forest policy. At subregionallevel, efforts to harmonize policies and programmeshave resulted in the development of the Convergence Plan of the Central African Forests Commission and the Convergence Plan for the Sustainable Management and Use of Forest Ecosystems in West Africa. However, at regional level, no SFM programme framework for Africa had been formulated. The project aimed to develop an SFM programme framework for Africa, and to enhance the capacities of member countries and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) to sustainably manage and develop their forestry sectors for social and economic development and long-term environmental protection.

The agronomic parameters in the SDG indicator 6.4.1: yield ratio and proportion of rainfed production
    2022
These guidelines are intended to assist countries in understanding the agronomic parameters involved in the computation of the agricultural component of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicator 6.4.1 on the change in water use efficiency over time. They provide a detailed explanation of the calculation process for calculation by countries willing to generate a more accurate estimation using their national data. The guidelines provide the minimum standard method using an estimated or default value proposed by FAO, as well as the available methodologies to progressively improve the accuracy through a monitoring ladder for countries that have more comprehensive and accurate data on their main crops areas and productions.

The Protocol of 8-9 July 1946 relative to the dissolution of the International Institute of Agriculture, transferred the functions and assets of the said Institute to FAO. Of these assets, the Library is unquestionably the most outstanding and is a lasting record of the Institute's work and its achievement in the field of agriculture. This catalogue will undoubtedly contribute towards a better knowledge of this international Library. This volume in its present form, represents the systematic card-index, by subject of the Brussels Decimal Classification, in French and English, and it's supplemented by the general alphabetical index of authors.
