    ينبغي أن يُبدد تقرير هذا العام أي شكوك لا تزال عالقة بشأن انتكاس جهود العالم نحو القضاء على الجوع وانعدام الأمن الغذائي وسوء التغذية بجميع أشكاله. ولم تعد تفصلنا حاليًا سوى ثماني سنوات عن عام 2030، ولكن المسافة اللازمة لبلوغ كثير من مقاصد الهدف 2 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة آخذة في الاتساع عامًا بعد عام. وتُبذل بالفعل جهود لإحراز تقدم نحو الهدف 2 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة، ولكنها ليست كافية في مواجهة سياق حافل بمزيد من التحديات وتُخيم عليه أجواء من عدم اليقين. وسيظل تكثيف الدوافع الرئيسية الكامنة وراء الاتجاهات الأخيرة في انعدام الأمن الغذائي وسوء التغذية (أي النزاع، والظواهر المناخية المتطرفة، والصدمات الاقتصادية) بالاقتران مع ارتفاع كلفة الأغذية المغذية وتنامي أوجه انعدام المساواة، يُشكل تحديًا للأمن الغذائي والتغذية. وسيبقى الوضع كذلك ما لم تشهد النُظم الزراعية والغذائية تحولًا فتُصبح أكثر قدرة على الصمود وتوفر أغذية مغذية أقل كلفة وأنماطًا غذائية صحية بكلفة ميسورة للجميع بصورة مستدامة وشاملة.Last update 15/12/2022

    As renewed international efforts are needed to curb greenhouse gas emissions, the livestock sector can contribute its part. An important emitter of greenhouse gas, it also has the potential to significantly reduce its emissions. This report provides a unique global assessment of the magnitude, the sources and pathways of emissions from different livestock production systems and supply chains. Relying on life cycle assessment, statistical analysis and scenario building, it also prov ides estimates of the sector’s mitigation potential and identifies concrete options to reduce emissions.
