No results found.FAO China ECTAD Highlights in August 2018: -Under the framework of the China Field Epidemiology Training Program for Veterinarians (CFETPV), the 6th FETPV-E was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province from 2-3 August 2018. Guided by the theme of “Belt and Road (B&R) and animal disease prevention and control”, the objectives of the workshop were to a) enhance senior veterinary administrative officials’ understanding on the application of veterinary epidemiology in disease control strategy planning and implementation, by introducing relevant approaches with practical examples; b) focus on B&R and effective utilizing of epidemiology network and supporting regional animal disease prevention and control; and c) review the progress of CFETPV in the past eight years and discuss the further adjustment to improve the upcoming cohort. -The 15th China Field Epidemiology Training Program for Veterinarians (CFETPV) Steering Committee Meeting was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province on 2 August 2018. Deputy Director General, Dr Chen Guanghua and Division Consultant, Dr Zhao Xiaodan from the Veterinary Bureau (VB) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), FAO China ECTAD office, and China Animal Health and Epidemiology Centre (CAHEC) participated in the meeting. -The Workshop on Veterinary Epidemiology Application for University Academics and CFETPV Chinese Trainers was held in Beijing from 21-24 August 2018. The Workshop aimed to help participants to address the challenges of epidemiological studies through discussions of realworld cases, enabling participants to reinforce the ability to apply relevant epidemiological methods to solve real-world problems; master the basic methods of data analysis, improve data analysis capabilities, and effectively analyse epidemiological data obtained in actual work; understand the relevant aspects of animal health economics and the basis of the epidemiological model; and promote cooperation and exchanges between the university academic network and the FETPV network. -
