Synopsis (short abstract) A platform that amplifies youth voices, ensures their representation in key decision-making spaces and equips them with the tools to lead is essential. Meaningful youth engagement is one of the most powerful drivers of a better, more sustainable food future. The World Food Forum's (WFF) Global Youth Action Initiative (Youth Initiative) was established to harness the passion and power of youth to transform our agrifood systems. It sparks youth engagementin food governance, fosters innovation and supports youth-led solutions for a sustainable future.The WFF Youth Initiative is implemented through a set of thematic programmes, that work together to create awareness, foster engagement and inspire youth-led transformative action. From amplifying youth voices in policy discussions and nurturing innovative solutions, to advancing education,empowering local initiatives and leveraging cultural engagement, the Youth Initiative equips young leaders to shape a more sustainable and equitable food future in their communities and countries.

    The World Food Forum (WFF)'s Global Youth Action Initiative was established to harness the passion and power of youth to transform our agrifood systems. Its Youth Innovation Lab supports youth-led innovation, offering visibility, capacity development and funding to elevate, develop and scale high impact solutions that address agrifood systems challenges. The Youth Innovation Lab bolsters youth-led agrifood solutions across a wide spectrum of topics andstages of maturity. From early-stage ideas and research to fast-growing startups that are alreadychanging the world, the Youth Innovation Lab provides tailored activities to support young leaders ontheir innovation journeys.

    Within the framework of the World Food Forum (WFF), the Global Youth Action initiative harnesses the passion and power of youth, and incites positive action for agrifood systems through youth empowerment. It acts as a catalytic movement and driver of youth engagement in agrifood governance, and serves as a knowledge centre and innovation lab, fostering and inspiring youth-led solutions. It thus actively contributes to the implementation of the United Nations Youth 2030 Strategy and enhances youth engagement in the follow-up to the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit.In 2024, the WFF Global Youth Action initiative entered its fourth year, embarking on a transformative journey towards a world with good food for all, for today and tomorrow. Throughout the year, it remained steadfast in its mission to empower young people to drive transformation within agrifood systems and address climate challenges at both local and global scales. Through expanded multigenerational initiatives, deeper collaborations and greater inclusivity, the WFF Global Youth Action initiative strove to create lasting impact in the journey towards a more sustainable and equitable food future for all.

    The World Food Forum (WFF)'s Global Youth Action Initiative was established to harness the passion and power of youth to transform our agrifood systems. Its Youth Assembly, led by the Youth Policy Board (YPB), serves as a year-round, open, inclusive and structured platform for young people to cocreate and engage in discussions about various agrifood systems-related issues. It brings together youth entities, organizations and constituencies to discuss specific policy topics within agrifood systems, and to develop joint recommendations and solutions that can be brought into intergovernmental processes and translated into programmatic actions. Through the Youth Assembly, young people from around the world can voice their perspectives and priorities for agrifood systems transformation. The Assembly embodies co-creation and co-leadership principles, promoting inclusivity, diversity, youth engagement and empowerment, and mutual respect. It strives to drive positive change and inspire innovative solutions in agrifood systems worldwide, through collective action.
