The assessment identifies and compares the various water tenure arrangements that exist in Sri Lanka and highlights the challenges that may hinder the effectiveness of those arrangements. It also provides recommendations on how to achieve a more responsible and equitable governance of water tenure. -

No results found.The project Knowing water better - Towards a more equitable and sustainable access to natural resources to achieve food security (KnoWat) established a geospatial database based on the water monitoring tool Water Productivity through Open-access of Remotely sensed derived data (WaPOR) project. The database was used to assess agricultural water consumption and water productivity in Rwanda by interpreting satellite images in the Yanze, Muvumba and Lower Akagera catchments. -

No results found.The project Knowing water better - Towards a more equitable and sustainable access to natural resources to achieve food security (KnoWat) worked with Yanze Horticulture Production Cooperative (YAHOPROC), a cooperative of vegetable growers, to support sustainable water resources management options, including a combination of improved solar-powered irrigation of their vegetable farms for improved production, as well as fish farming and pig production to boost the farmers’ income.
