It aims to familiarize Member Nations, food budgeting institutions, and other interested parties with the core processes involved in data collection and imputation strategies specifically for agricultural and livestock products.

    Aglink-Cosimo is the model used to generate the market projections provided in the OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook. This annual publication has wide outreach and serves as a reference to policy makers, stakeholders, and researchers to identify possible future challenges and opportunities for the agricultural sector. Researchers and policy analysists also use this model to assess possible future economic, weather, and political developments that differ from those presented in the Outlook. The present documentation builds on the one issued in 2015. It contains the latest model developments, including the modelling of biofuels and land use, and the calculation of post-model indicators.

    The significance of industrial processing for the nature of food and the state of human health - and in particular the techniques and ingredients developed by modern food science and technology - is generally underestimated. This is evident in both national and international policies and strategies designed to improve populations' nutrition and health. Until recently it has also been neglected in epidemiological and experimental studies concerning diet, nutrition and health. This report seeks to assess the impact of ultra-processed food on diet quality and health, based on NOVA, a food classification system developed by researchers at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
