    A major function of the Intergovernmental Group (IGG) on Jute, Kenaf and Allied Fibres is to provide a forum for consultation on the economic aspects of production, marketing, local processing, trade, research and consumption of jute, kenaf and allied fibres. In support of this function, the IGG Secretariat collects and disseminates information relating to the production, marketing, trade and consumption of jute, kenaf and allied fibres, which are tabulated and presented in this bulletin. This i nformation is further used by the IGG Secretariat to analyze national policies and their international effects as well as supply and demand position and its probable development in the short and medium terms.
