No results found.The document is a joint meeting report on the First South Asia TADs Coordination Meeting for Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) which was held in two phases, (i) a virtual preparatory phase on the FAO Virtual Learning Center followed by (ii) an in-person gathering which took place in Paro, Bhutan in May 2023. The meeting was organized to support sharing information on disease situations, assess progress in disease control, and promote regional coordination and cooperation to address the impact of these three priority transboundary animal diseases (TADs) in South Asia. The report includes summaries of disease situations and a review of progress in their control in the region, and lists recommendations to mitigate the impact of these diseases and improve their control in South Asia. Key challenges identified during the meeting included knowledge gaps, limited vaccine quality control, and the lack of cross-border coordination. To address these challenges, participants advocated for more harmonized and holistic approaches to TADs control and management. -

2018La présente norme décrit des mesures phytosanitaires qui réduisent le risque d’introduction et de dissémination d’organismes de quarantaine associés aux échanges internationaux des matériaux d’emballage en bois réalisés à partir de bois brut. Les matériaux d’emballage en bois auxquels s’applique cette norme incluent le bois de calage, mais excluent les emballages en bois transformé de telle sorte qu’il soit exempt d’organismes nuisibles (par exemple le contreplaqué). Les mesures phytosanitaires décrites dans la présente norme n’ont pas pour but d’assurer une protection constante contre les organismes nuisibles contaminants ou d’autres organismes. -

2016La présente norme donne aux organisations nationales de la protection des végétaux (ONPV) des pays importateurs des critères sur les modalités de classification des marchandises selon le risque phytosanitaire qu’elles présentent du point de vue des exigences à l’importation. Cette classification en catégories devrait aider à identifier si l’on a besoin ou non d’une analyse ultérieure du risque phytosanitaire et si une certification phytosanitaire est nécessaire. On opère une première étape de la classification selon que la marchandise est transformée ou non et, dans l’affirmative, selon la méthode et le degré de transformation à laquelle la marchandise a été soumise avant l’exportation. On opère la deuxième étape de la classification des marchandises selon l’usage qui en est prévu après l’importation. Les organismes nuisibles contaminants ou les organismes nuisibles présents dans les entrepôts qui peuvent s’associer à la marchandise après la transformation ne sont pas pris en compte dans la présente norme. -
Book (stand-alone)Manual / guideManual on the development and use of FAO and WHO specifications for chemical pesticides 2022In 2001, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) agreed to develop specifications for pesticides jointly, thus providing unique, robust and universally applicable standards for pesticide quality. This joint programme is based on a memorandum of understanding between the two organizations. This 2021 second edition of the manual on development and use of FAO and WHO specifications for pesticides, which is only available online, supersedes the March 2020 third revision of the first edition and previous manuals and guidance documents published by either FAO or WHO on this subject. This manual provides the standard process, unified requirements and procedures, harmonized definitions and nomenclature, technical guidelines and standards applicable to pesticides for use in agriculture and public health. FAO and WHO specifications for pesticides based on this manual are developed through the FAO/WHO Joint Meeting on Pesticide Specifications (JMPS) and published on the web sites of the two organizations.
