Key messages- The prevalence of adult obesity in Asia and the Pacific (6.1 percent) was lower than the global prevalence of 13.1 percent, but adult obesity has been rising in every country in the region. No country in Asia and the Pacific is on track to meet the WHA target of no increase in adult obesity.
- The prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding has been increasing in nearly all countries in the region.
- Most countries have also made progress since 2000 in reducing the prevalence of low birthweight. However, for many countries, progress has been insufficient to meet the WHA targets.
