Synopsis (short abstract) The 4-page FAO Myanmar Newsletter is the first issue in 2017. The contents include a message from FAO representative (FAOR) in Myanmar, describing her meeting with Myanmar State Counsellor, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who emphasized the discussion on sustainable agriculture, food and nutrition security. FAOR's message also thanked the strong partnership with the government, development and humanitarian partners. The other success stories cover Climate Change through sustainable forest management, imp roving farmers’ incomes through strategic livestock raising, promoting home and school gardens for better nutrition, raising awareness on the importance of secure tenure through introducing VGGT and strengthening the livelihoods of vulnerable populations across Rakhine, one of the states in Myanmar. All of the stories describe FAO efforts in Myanmar to achieve its overall goal to defeat hunger and ensure sustainable food and nutrition security in partnership with relevant Myanmar government m inistries.
