No results found.In 2004, Namibia adopted its long term strategy for economic transform dubbed “Vision 2030”. The Vision 2030 sets out very bold and ambitious objectives to transform Namibia into a healthy and food-secure nation, in which all preventable, infectious and parasitic diseases (including HIV/AIDS) are at their minimum, people enjoy high standards of living, a good quality of life and have access to quality education, health and other vital services. Thus, within the context of attaining the Vision 2030 through the implementation of the NDPs and HPP, the government of Namibia, through the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation requested FAO to provide input for a national Conference that will deliberate on the evolution of Namibia’s Foreign Policy, and how changes in the domestic and global environment will impact its future policy stance. More specifically, FAO is expected to provide inputs on how Agriculture, in particular food security, contributes to poverty eradication a nd the role agriculture can play in shaping a country’s foreign policy. -
