    2021 yaz aylarında yaşanan büyük orman yangınları büyük bir yıkım getirdi. Türkiye'de de büyük miktarda ormanlık alanın yok olması, canlıların ölümü ile sonuçlanan yanfın felaketleri ormanların önemini bir kez daha ortaya koydu. FAO, Türkiye'desürdürülebilir ormancılıktan, ağaçlandırma faaliyetlerine, orman sertifikasyonundan arazi tahribanı önlemeye kadar bir bir dizi proje uyguluyor. FAOTURN'ün dördüncü sayısında bu projleri ve son durumlarını anlattık. Ayrıca bu sayımızda Geçici Koruma Altındaki Suriyeliler (GKAS) için SRRP çatısı altında uygulanan projelerin sonuçları hakkında da veriler var. GKAS'lerin tarım gıda sektörlerindeki istihdamı yoluyla entegresyonu hedefleyen projelerdeki istihdam oranları umut veriyor. FAO'nun Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Tarım ve Orman Bakanlığı ile uyguladığı israfa karşı Gıdanı Koru kampanyası da birinci yılını doldurdu. Kampanyanın bir yıllık sonuçları gelecekiçin, yeni projeler için de ilham veriyor.

    FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) is one of the mechanisms to respond to countries’ most pressing needs for technical assistance and effectively pursue the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2019 Report of the Technical Cooperation Programme introduces a new series of annual reports that provide FAO Members, governments, donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders with evidence of the impact of the work carried out by FAO through the TCP. Prepared by the Outreach, Marketing and Reporting Unit (PSRR), in close collaboration with the TCP Coordination Unit in the Office of the Assistant Director-General (ADG-PS), the first in the series presents and assesses the achievements and catalytic role of TCP-funded projects. Based on a review of the TCP projects operationally closed during 2018 and interviews with lead technical officers, technical officers at FAO headquarters, budget holders and FAO country representatives, the report provides details on the characteristics, typical interventions and results of the programme, and features a select number of in-depth stories to highlight the tangible and lasting results of the programme’s catalytic work.

    Deepening our engagement with resource partners and fostering new alliances with like-minded players is essential for generating real and far-reaching impact on the ground, especially in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. In order to highlight FAO’s relevance and results achieved through the continued support of key resource partners, TCR is preparing targeted donor-specific marketing materials for resource mobilization purposes. With the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, FAO’s mandate has been reinforced and scaled up to a depth and scope that calls for a greater commitment in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, much needs to be done in order to mobilize sufficient resources to meet the global necessities related to the eradication of hunger, malnutrition and poverty globally. This report aims to provide an overview of Switzerland's strong partnership and valuable contribution to the work of FAO in recent years, bringing together their individual set of unique skills to the table to help resolve myriad challenges relating to food security, nutrition, resilience and sustainability. Working in close partnership with resource partners is the only way we can move forward and achieve a world where hunger no longer exists.
