Funded by the Government of the Republic of Turkey, the project aims to assist Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in developing measures to reduce food loss and waste. In particular, the project will support the recipient countries to: • develop national gender-sensitive strategic policy and action plans to reduce FLW; • establish FLW data collection systems, as well as measure and monitor FLW; • improve knowledge management and capacities; and • raise awareness and understanding of FLW (causes, impact and solutions) among actors in all sectors, including consumers, at national and regional level, leaving no one behind. -

No results found.In the framework of global, regional and country-level studies conducted by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (UN/FAO) in 2010-2014, this study, conducted in summer 2013, assesses of food losses and waste in priority agri-food chains in Ukraine. The objective of the study is to identify critical points and patterns of food losses and waste along selected food supply chains in Ukraine, which have the largest impact on food security and food supply in the country. For tha t purpose the country study aims to provide an overall assessment of food losses and waste and its impact on food security and food supply, as well as identifying and analysing critical points for food losses and waste along selected agri-food chains.
