2000En virtud de su mandato de prestar asistencia a los países miembros para las actividades complementarias de la Ronda Uruguay y las futuras negociaciones sobre la agricultura, la FAO ha desplegado una amplia gama de iniciativas destinadas a mejorar la capacidad, particularmente de los países en desarrollo, de analizar las consecuencias de los Acuerdos de la Ronda Uruguay para el sector agropecuario, efectuar los ajustes correspondientes al nuevo entorno comercial con el fin de poder sacar provech o de las oportunidades de comercialización, y participar eficazmente en las futuras negociaciones comerciales multilaterales. El Plan de Acción de la Cumbre Mundial sobre la Alimentación de 1996 compromete a la FAO a continuar prestando asistencia a los países en desarrollo en las cuestiones referentes al comercio y en particular -

2000El informe y los documentos del simposio celebrado en Ginebra el 23-24 de septiembre de 1999 están contenidos en el Vol. I de esta publicación. El presente volumen contiene los 14 casos de estudio en países, preparados a principios de 1999 por consultores y distribuidos en forma provisional en el simposio (con la posibilidad de consultarlos también en Internet). Con posterioridad, han sido revisados para su publicación por la Dirección de Productos Básicos y Comercio de la FAO, sobre la cua l recae la responsabilidad del contenido final. La introducción y síntesis de los estudios (Parte I del presente volumen) han sido preparados también bajo la responsabilidad exclusiva de la Secretaría de la FAO, que desea expresar su agradecimiento a los consultores por sus contribuciones.

No results found.The Protocol of 8-9 July 1946 relative to the dissolution of the International Institute of Agriculture, transferred the functions and assets of the said Institute to FAO. Of these assets, the Library is unquestionably the most outstanding and is a lasting record of the Institute's work and its achievement in the field of agriculture. This catalogue will undoubtedly contribute towards a better knowledge of this international Library. This volume in its present form, represents the systematic card-index, by subject of the Brussels Decimal Classification, in French and English, and it's supplemented by the general alphabetical index of authors.

No results found.The FAOSTAT emissions database is composed of several data domains covering the categories of the IPCC Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector of the national GHG inventory. Energy use in agriculture is additionally included as relevant to emissions from agriculture as an economic production sector under the ISIC A statistical classification, though recognizing that, in terms of IPCC, they are instead part of the Energy sector of the national GHG inventory. FAO emissions estimates are available over the period 1961–2018 for agriculture production processes from crop and livestock activities. Land use emissions and removals are generally available only for the period 1990–2019. This analytical brief focuses on overall trends over the period 2000–2018. -
BookletHigh-profileFAO Strategy on Climate Change 2022–2031 2022The FAO Strategy on Climate Change 2022–2031 was endorsed by FAO Council in June 2022. This new strategy replaces the previous strategy from 2017 to better FAO's climate action with the Strategic Framework 2022-2031, and other FAO strategies that have been developed since then. The Strategy was elaborated following an inclusive process of consultation with FAO Members, FAO staff from headquarters and decentralized offices, as well as external partners. It articulates FAO's vision for agrifood systems by 2050, around three main pillars of action: at global and regional level, at country level, and at local level. The Strategy also encourages key guiding principles for action, such as science and innovation, inclusiveness, partnerships, and access to finance.
