    Эта публикация представляет собой сборник основных результатов онлайн-диалога заинтересованных сторон, организованного в рамках проекта “Наращивание потенциала по укреплению продовольственной безопасности и улучшению питания в ряде стран Кавказа и Центральной Азии”, финансируемым Российской Федерацией, в сотрудничестве с Глобальным форумом по продовольственной безопасности и питанию (Форум FSN). В публикации представлен обзор многочисленных тем, которые обсуждались, начиная с 2017 года. Вниманию читателя также преставлено краткое введение в основные идеи и выводы, которые были сделаны в ходе этих онлайн-консультаций. Кроме того, в этой публикации содержится ряд кратких тематических исследований, в которых освещаются передовая практика и уроки, извлеченные из реализации программ школьного продовольствия и питания, а также из осуществления политики в области продовольственной безопасности и питания в Европе, на Кавказе и в Центральной Азии.     Planning Communication for Agricultural Disaster Risk Management: A Field Guide 2015

    Reducing risk and increasing resilience to natural disasters and climate change requires access to knowledge, information and the active participation of vulnerable population. Planning Communication for Agricultural Disaster Risk Management is a field guide to orient ADRM teams and concerned stakeholders for the design and implementation of communication for development (ComDev) activities that will increase resilience and protect the livelihoods of rural communities. It builds on the experienc e gained in the Caribbean region as a result of FAO projects aimed at strengthening preparedness to natural disasters and improving community-based climate change adaptation. As a field guide, it provides a complete overview of how to assess rural people’s communication needs and how to plan and implement ComDev activities in the context of disaster risk management, crisis preparedness and emergency response in agriculture, food security and nutrition. It also provides guidance on how to apply C omDev to enhance the overall ADRM participatory planning and result monitoring processes, ensuring multi-stakeholder dialogue and participation.

    Women make significant contributions to the rural economy in all developing country regions. Their roles OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE differ across regions, yet they consistently have less access than men to the resources and opportunities they need to be more productive. Increasing women’s access to land, livestock, education, financial services, extension, technology and rural employment would boost their productivity and generate gains in terms of agricultural production, foo d security, economic growth and social welfare. Closing the gender gap in agricultural inputs alone could lift 100–- 150 million people out of hunger. No blueprint exists for closing the gender gap, but some basic principles are universal: governments, the international community and civil society should work together to eliminate discrimination under the law, to promote equal access to resources and opportunities, to ensure that agricultural policies and programmes are gender-aw are, and to make women’s voices heard as equal partners for sustainable development. Achieving gender equality and empowering women in agriculture is not only the right thing to do. It is also crucial for agricultural development and food security.
