.في 25 سبتمبر/أيلول 2015، اعتمدت الدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة البالغ عددها 193 دولة خطة عمل التنمية المستدامة 2030 والمدعومة ب 17 هدفاً لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة يُعترف على نطاق واسع بقدرات الفاو الفنية وتواجدها العالمي ومعارفها في مجال الرصد وخبرتها في بناء الشراكات وصياغة السياسات لدعم تنفيذ خطة عمل 2030 في إقليم الشرق الأدنى وشمال أفريقيا، يتركز الدعم الفني الذي تقدمه الفاو على ثلاث مبادرات إقليمية أقرتها الدول الأعضاء في المنظمة لضمان تقديم دعم متماسك ومتكامل للبلدان في .جهودها لتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة إن تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة يتجاوز قدرة أية دولة على حدة، لكنه لا يتجاوز قدرتنا جميعاً. وهي تتطلب عملاً من الجميع وأساليب جديدة للعمل المشترك، مثل الشراكات والتضامن والرغبة في العمل عبر الجغرافيا والقطاعات والمهن والتخصصات. ستعزز هذه النشرة الإخبارية التواصل والتعاون بين مكتب الفاو الإقليمي للشرق الأدنى وشمال إفريقيا وجميع شركائه، إذ أنها تلقي الضوء على أهدافنا المشتركة في تعزيز الأمن الغذائي والتغذوي في المنطقة وتعزيز الإدارة المستدامة للبيئة والموارد الطبيعية. -

Book (series)Flagshipنظرة إقليمية عامة حول انعدام الأمن الغذائي - الشرق الأدنى وشمال إفريقيا تعزيز التعاون الإقليمي لبناء القدرة على الصمود ومواجهة الأزمات من أجل تحسين الأمن الغذائي والتغذية 2015يستعرض العالم في هذا العام التقدم المحرز نحو تحقيق الأهداف الانمائية للألفية 2000-2015. وفي هذه المرحلة الفارقة، ولأول مرة، تقوم منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة (الفاو) بنشر تقريرآ اقليميا يستعرض وضع الأمن الغذائي والتغذية في إقليم الشرق الأدنى وشمال إفريقيا. ويهدف هذا الإصدار إلى إعطاء صورة عامة عن التقدم الذي أحرزه الإقليم نحو تحقيق الأهداف الانمائية للألفية وأهداف القمة العالمية للغذاء باستخدام بيانات من تقرير منظمة الفاو حول وضع انعدام الأمن الغذائي في العالم لعام 2015. ويوفر هذا التقري ر أيضا تحليلا متعمقا للوضع الحالي في الإقليم من منظور الأبعاد الأربعة للأمن الغذائي ألا وهي: توفر الغذاء، والقدرة على الحصول عليه، واستخدامه، واستقراره.

The 2023 edition of the Regional Overview of Food Security and Nutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean presents an update of the data and trends in food security and nutrition in recent years. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis and the conflict in Ukraine, as well as the economic slowdown, rising food inflation and income inequality have had an impact on regional figures. The most recent data shows that, between 2021 and 2022, progress was made in reducing hunger and food insecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean. However, the progress achieved is far from the targets established to meet SDG 2 of ending hunger. In addition, one in five people in the region cannot access a healthy diet and malnutrition in all its forms, including child stunting, micronutrient deficiencies and obesity continue to be a major challenge. -

The report is structured along the four pillars of the JP GTA, with sections focusing on knowledge generation, country-level activities, capacity development and learning, and policy support and institutional engagement. The page on 'knowledge generation' offers an overview of resources published or facilitated by the JP GTA in 2022. Under 'country-level activities' readers will find a summary of the key activities and achievements of the Joint Programme in Ecuador and Malawi. Urbanization, agrifood systems transformation and healthy diets across the rural–urban continuum
2023This report provides an update on global progress towards the targets of ending hunger (SDG Target 2.1) and all forms of malnutrition (SDG Target 2.2) and estimates on the number of people who are unable to afford a healthy diet. Since its 2017 edition, this report has repeatedly highlighted that the intensification and interaction of conflict, climate extremes and economic slowdowns and downturns, combined with highly unaffordable nutritious foods and growing inequality, are pushing us off track to meet the SDG 2 targets. However, other important megatrends must also be factored into the analysis to fully understand the challenges and opportunities for meeting the SDG 2 targets. One such megatrend, and the focus of this year’s report, is urbanization. New evidence shows that food purchases in some countries are no longer high only among urban households but also among rural households. Consumption of highly processed foods is also increasing in peri-urban and rural areas of some countries. These changes are affecting people’s food security and nutrition in ways that differ depending on where they live across the rural–urban continuum. This timely and relevant theme is aligned with the United Nations General Assembly-endorsed New Urban Agenda, and the report provides recommendations on the policies, investments and actions needed to address the challenges of agrifood systems transformation under urbanization and to enable opportunities for ensuring access to affordable healthy diets for everyone.
