This flyer presents a The impact on travel and trade resulting from border restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has taken a toll on employment and ultimately household incomes. Women, especially those in the formal employment sector, were seriously affected, particularly in female-headed households. The Samoa Women's Association of Growers (SWAG) stepped in to provide women growers and farmers of Samoa with opportunities for business, networking, training and education. As a result, previously employed women have been turning to micro-business ventures in the informal space. This flyer presents the positive resluts of the online markets facilitated by SWAG. -

As a result, farmers in SIDS, especially those in remote locations, have difficulties accessing actors along the value chain and in international markets. This flyer presents a platform for agriculture value chain stakeholders to connect with one another, and access information as well as simple digital tools for improved farm management. -

AgriTech is a government initiative that supports innovative proposals along the entire value chain. Examples include smart irrigation systems to maximize crop growth, smart fertilizer application systems, high-tech greenhouses, hydroponic systems, farm robotics to reduce labour use, smart logistics technologies such as food freshness sensors and shelf life enhancement technology for merchandise in transit, and development of marketing systems through apps, websites, and other digital platforms to connect producers and consumers.
