The report includes lessons learned from the projects and recommendation for future programmes linking food secu rity and nutrition education actions that aim to improve young child nutrition. -

No results found.The summary presents findings from an FAO-facilitated study which used TIPs to explore infant and young child feeding practices in the Kasungu and Mzimba districts. The trials’ results fed into the nutrition education component of the FAO integrated agriculture-nutrition program “Improving Food Security and Nutrition Policies and Programme Outreach” (IFSN). Investigating seasonal variation in local food availability was one of the main objectives of the trials as seasonality poses a major challe nge to food security in rural Malawi. -

No results found.The nutrition-sensitive agriculture project “Improving Food Security and Nutrition Policies and Programme Outreach (IFSN)” was implemented in Malawi from 2008–2015. Its objective was to contribute to achieving the Malawian Development Goals (MDGs) by improving the food and nutrition security of vulnerable populations in Mzimba and Kasungu Districts, Malawi with a focus on child nutrition and complementary feeding. The project supported evidence-based policy and programme improvements with the Mi nistries of Agriculture, Health and Education.
