This analytical brief summarizes and highlights relevant patterns from 2010 up to 2023 featured by the latest data published on the FAOSTAT data platform. -

No results found.FAOSTAT's agricultural production domain covers data on crops and livestock commodities as well as harvested areas, yields, and live and slaughtered animal numbers for 199 countries. The most recently released data elaborated by FAO's Statistics Division extend to 2020. For each time series, data are analysed using agricultural input, output, and productivity variables. Data are also available up to 2019 for some processed crop and livestock products that are synchronized with the Food Balance Sheets domain. -

The agricultural production domain in FAOSTAT covers data on crop and livestock commodities from production volumes to harvested areas and animal slaughtering rates. In addition, data for some selected processed crop and livestock products, synchronized and derived from the Food Balance Sheets domain, are also available up to the year 2020. This analytical brief summarises and highlights the relevant patterns up to 2021 revealed by the latest data update published on FAOSTAT.

No results found.This statistics working paper presents an estimation methodology for decomposing food expenditure across the industries and the primary factors of the food value chain (FVC). The approach outlined is based on the Global Food Dollar methodology developed by the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-ERS) and Cornell University. FAO has enriched the analytical scope of the methodology by adding the industry and primary factors decomposition. Country coverage has also been increased by adapting the methodology to different data types and sources. -
