No results found.From 2016 to 2025, FAO supported 22 000 small-scale farming families in the West Bank—35 percent women—through a USD 19.9 million project aimed at boosting agricultural value chains. The initiative improved land and water access, introduced sustainable farming practices, upgraded post-harvest facilities, and strengthened cooperatives’ market access and services. As a result, farmers saw increased yields, profits, and access to quality services through a stronger cooperative network. -

Since the 1990s, rural transformation has lifted nearly as many people out of poverty as urban development. Many more will be able to climb out of poverty if greater priority is given to public investments in rural areas. In order to help boost small-scale farm productivity and incomes, and to create vast amounts of off-farm employment in expanding segments of food supply and value chains, new strategies are needed to leverage the untapped potential of food systems through agro-industrial development. -

No results found.This document presents the results of applying the Fishery Performance Indicators Development (FPI-DEV) tool to the large pelagic fisheries sector of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This rapid assessment tool is designed to support coastal and island developing countries, including Small Island Developing States (SIDS) like Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, in measuring improved sustainability outcomes for fishery systems. The report details improvements to be made to the five pillars of sustainable development: sustainable economic development, environmental sustainability, inclusive development, increasing scientific knowledge and ocean governance, with a focus on sustainable marine fisheries and seafood processing in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
