No results found.FAO Gambia country office presents the second edition of its quarterly newsletter for 2022 with stories of successes and achievements. This edition focuses on all the external engagements of the country office including training sessions in collaboration with other country offices and regional and sub-regional offices aimed at improving the capacity of the staff and major stakeholders we are supporting. All these activities have aimed to forge meaningful partnerships for better impact. The newsletter mentions important events such as the Smallholder Horticulture Empowerment and Promotion (SHEP) Workshop in Senegal and the Business Operations Strategy (2.0) Training of Trainers (ToT) held in Nairobi. On the backdrop, FAO Gambia was also able to host a delegation of farmers and agriculture officers from Liberia who visited to learn about some of the best agricultural practices in the Gambia These stories are among many others that are featured in this newsletter. No results found.FAO Gambia country office presents its newsletter for the first quarter of 2022 with stories of successes and achievements. Key highlights include local communities will now be able to reap benefits from a 40 km feeder/access roads that FAO will construct in weeks to come. The vision to leave no one behind is also reflected in the Country Office’s deliberation to find a clear pathway towards its new Country Programming Framework (2023-27) as FAO renews its commitment to reach greater heights in food and nutrition security. Through the framework, the country office will continue with its efforts to improve the Agriculture and Natural Resources sectors for the next five years. Plans to improve the mangrove oyster sector are also coming to fruition as the FISH4ACP project launches in the country. These stories are among many others that are featured in this newsletter. No results found.The activities in Guyana are part of the Sustainable Wildlife Management (SWM) Programme, an initiative of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and the Pacific States, which is funded by the European Union with co-funding from the French Facility for Global Environment and the French Development Agency. The SWM Programme mobilizes an international group of partner organizations with experience and expertise in wildlife conservation, food security, and policy development. It is implemented through a consortium partnership, which includes the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD). Activities are being implemented in 15 participating countries, namely Botswana, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Guyana, Madagascar, Mali, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Congo, Senegal, Sudan, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
