dc.description.abstract Fisheries have been always seen as one of the main sources supporting nutrition, food security and economic condition of countries, especially the coastal ones and more significantly the Small Island Developing Countries, and Cabo Verde is one of the cases. However, the increasing demand for fish and fisheries products for human consumption is leading to the overexploitation of most of the fishing stock. The Ecosystem approach to fisheries implementation monitoring tool is meant to monitor the implementation of the ecosystem approach to fisheries (EAF) management in the implementation of the ecosystem approach to fisheries (EAF), and the achievements in managing fisheries in a sustainable manner. In this report, we analyze the existing management plans for coherence with an Ecosystem Approach to fisheries (EAF) and sharing of best practices from fisheries management plan implementation, using the case study of the black mackerel (Decapterus macarellus) from Cabo Verde.
