Brochure, flyer, fact-sheetأسماك قِيتارة البحر،Glaucostegus cemiculus & Glaucostegus granulatus أسماك الإسفين، Rhynchobatus djiddensis & Rhynchobatus australiae 2019عُقد في مقر المنظمة اجتماع الفريق الاستشاري السادس لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة المعني بتقييم مقترحات تعديل الملحقين الأول والثاني من إتفاقية سايتس بشأن الأصناف المائية المستغلة تجارياً، وذلك من 21 إلى 25 يناير 2019. عُقد الفريق استجابةً: لموافقة لجنة مصائد الأسماك (COFI)التابعة لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة في دورتها الخامسة والعشرين بشأن اختصاصات فريق خبراء استشاري لتقييم المقترحات المقدمة إلى إتفاقية التجارة الدولية لأصناف الحيوان والنبات البري المعرضة للإنقراض سايتس (CITES) ، وإلى مصادقة الدورة السادسة والعشرين للجنة مصائد الأسماك لعقد إجتماع للفريق لتقديم المقترحات ذات الصلة إلى مؤتمر الأطراف في سايتس في المستقبل. تمثلت أهداف الفريق في: 1. تقييم كل إقتراح من منظور علمي وفقًا للمعايير البيولوجية للإدراج بقائمة سايتس (القرار Conf. 9.24 Rev. CoP17) ؛ 2. التعليق حسب الإقتضاء على الجوانب التقنية للمقترح فيما يتعلق بمسائل البيولوجيا والبيئة والتجارة والإدارة ، وكذلك إلى أقصى حد ممكن حول الفعالية المحتملة للحفظ. نظر الفريق في المقترحات الأربعة التالية المقدمة إلى المؤتمر الثامن عشر للأطراف في اتفاقية سايتس : CoP18إقتراح 42 لإدراج قرش الماكو(mako shark) Isurus oxyrinchus بالملحق الثاني وفقًا للمادة II الفقرة 2 (أ) وIsurus paucus بالملحق الثاني وفقًا للمادة II ، الفقرة 2 (ب). خلص تقييم فريق خبراء منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للاقتراح 42 إلى أن البيانات المتاحة لا تقدم أدلة على أن الأصناف تلبي معايير الإدراج بالملحق الثاني بقائمة سايتس. CoP18 إقتراح 43 لإدراج سمكة الجيتار (blackchin guitarfish) Glaucostegus cemiculus وسمكة الجيتارsharpnose) (guitarfish Glaucostegus granulatus بالملحق الثاني وفقًا للمادة II الفقرة 2 (أ) وإدراج جميع أسماك الجيتار العملاقة الأخرى، Glaugostegus spp وفقا للفقرة 2 (ب) من المادة II. خلص تقييم فريق خبراء منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للإقتراح 43 إلى عدم وجود أدلة كافية لاتخاذ قرار مقارنة بمعايير إتفاقية سايتس. Insufficient Data to make a CITES determination
2019The sixth FAO Expert Advisory Panel for the Assessment of Proposals to Amend Appendices I and II of CITES Concerning Commercially-exploited Aquatic Species was held at FAO headquarters from 21 to 25 January 2019. The Panel was convened in response to the agreement by the twenty-fifth session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) on the terms of reference for an expert advisory panel for assessment of proposals to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and to the endorsement of the twenty-sixth session of COFI to convene the Panel for relevant proposals to future CITES Conference of the Parties. The objectives of the Panel were to: i. assess each proposal from a scientific perspective in accordance with the CITES biological listing criteria (Resolution Conf. 9.24 [Rev. CoP17]; ii. comment, as appropriate, on technical aspects of the proposal in relation to biology, ecology, trade and management issues, as well as, to the extent possible, the likely effectiveness for conservation. The Panel considered the following four proposals submitted to the eighteenth Conference of the Parties to CITES: CoP18 Prop. 42 to include mako shark, Isurus oxyrinchus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and Isurus paucus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 42 concluded that the available data do not provide evidence that the species meets the CITES Appendix II listing criteria. CoP18 Prop. 43 to include blackchin guitarfish Glaucostegus cemiculus and the sharpnose guitarfish, Glaucostegus granulatus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and inclusion of all other giant guitarfish, Glaugostegus spp. in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 43 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 44 to include white-spotted wedgefish, Rhynchobatus australiae and Rhynchobatus djiddensis in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 44 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 45 to include the subgenus Holothuria (Microthele): Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria nobilis and Holothuria whitmaei in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 45 concluded that the available data for Holothuria fuscogilva does not meet, there was insufficient evidence to make a determination for Holothuria nobilis and Holothuria whitmaei does meet the CITES Appendix II listing criteria. -

Le comité s'est réuni à la suite de la vingt-cinquième session de la Comité des Pêches de la FAO (COFI) sur les termes de référence d'un comité consultatif d'experts chargé d'évaluer les propositions relatives à la Convention sur le commerce international des espèces de faune et de flore sauvages menacées d'extinction (CITES) et à l'approbation de la vingt-sixième session du COFI pour convoquer le groupe d'experts chargé d'examiner les propositions pertinentes à la future conférence des parties à la CITES. Les objectifs du groupe étaient les suivants: (i) évaluer chaque proposition d'un point de vue scientifique conformément aux critères d'inscription biologique de la CITES (résolution Conf. 9.24 [Rev. CoP17]; (ii) commenter, comme approprié, les aspects techniques de la proposition en relation avec les questions de biologie, d'écologie, de commerce et de gestion, ainsi que, dans la mesure du possible, l'efficacité probable de la conservation. Le comité a examiné les quatre propositions suivantes, soumises à la dix-huitième Conférence des Parties à la CITES: La CoP18 Prop. 42 visant à inclure le requin mako, Isurus oxyrinchus à l'Annexe II, conformément à l’article II, paragraphe 2(a) et Isurus paucus à l’Annexe II conformément à l’article II, paragraphe 2(b). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 42 a conclu que les données disponibles ne permettent pas de prouver que l’espèce est conforme aux critères d’inscription à l’Annexe II de la CITES. La CoP18 Prop. 43 visant à inclure le raie poisson-guitare (blackchin guitarfish) Glaucostegus cemiculus, et le poisson-guitare a nez pointu (sharpnose guitarfish) Glaucostegus granulatus à l’Annexe II, conformément à l’article II paragraphe 2(a) et inclusion de tous les autres poissons-guitare géants, Glaugostegus spp. conformément à l’article II, paragraphe 2(b). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 43 a conclu que les preuves étaient insuffisantes pour permettre de se prononcer sur les critères de la CITES. La CoP18 Prop. 44 visant à inclure le poisson-coin à taches blanches (white-spotted wedgefish) Rhynchobatus australiae et Rhynchobatus djiddensis à l'Annexe II conformément à l’article II paragraphe 2 (a). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 44 a conclu que les preuves étaient insuffisantes pour permettre de se prononcer sur les critères de la CITES. La CoP18 Prop. 45 visant à inclure le sous-genre Holothuria (Microthele): Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria nobilis et Holothuria whitmaei à l'Annexe II conformément à l'Article II, paragraphe 2 (a). The Panel was convened in response to the agreement by the twenty-fifth session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) on the terms of reference for an expert advisory panel for assessment of proposals to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and to the endorsement of the twenty-sixth session of COFI to convene the Panel for relevant proposals to future CITES Conference of the Parties. The objectives of the Panel were to: i. assess each proposal from a scientific perspective in accordance with the CITES biological listing criteria (Resolution Conf. 9.24 [Rev. CoP17]; ii. comment, as appropriate, on technical aspects of the proposal in relation to biology, ecology, trade and management issues, as well as, to the extent possible, the likely effectiveness for conservation. The Panel considered the following four proposals submitted to the eighteenth Conference of the Parties to CITES: CoP18 Prop. 42 to include mako shark, Isurus oxyrinchus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and Isurus paucus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 42 concluded that the available data do not provide evidence that the species meets the CITES Appendix II listing criteria. CoP18 Prop. 43 to include blackchin guitarfish Glaucostegus cemiculus and the sharpnose guitarfish, Glaucostegus granulatus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and inclusion of all other giant guitarfish, Glaugostegus spp. in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 43 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 44 to include white-spotted wedgefish, Rhynchobatus australiae and Rhynchobatus djiddensis in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 44 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 45 to include the subgenus Holothuria (Microthele): Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria nobilis and Holothuria whitmaei in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 45 concluded that the available data for Holothuria fuscogilva does not meet, there was insufficient evidence to make a determination for Holothuria nobilis and Holothuria whitmaei does meet the CITES Appendix II listing criteria. -

2019The sixth FAO Expert Advisory Panel for the Assessment of Proposals to Amend Appendices I and II of CITES Concerning Commercially-exploited Aquatic Species was held at FAO headquarters from 21 to 25 January 2019. The Panel was convened in response to the agreement by the twenty-fifth session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) on the terms of reference for an expert advisory panel for assessment of proposals to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and to the endorsement of the twenty-sixth session of COFI to convene the Panel for relevant proposals to future CITES Conference of the Parties. The objectives of the Panel were to: i. assess each proposal from a scientific perspective in accordance with the CITES biological listing criteria (Resolution Conf. 9.24 [Rev. CoP17]; ii. comment, as appropriate, on technical aspects of the proposal in relation to biology, ecology, trade and management issues, as well as, to the extent possible, the likely effectiveness for conservation. The Panel considered the following four proposals submitted to the eighteenth Conference of the Parties to CITES: CoP18 Prop. 42 to include mako shark, Isurus oxyrinchus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and Isurus paucus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 42 concluded that the available data do not provide evidence that the species meets the CITES Appendix II listing criteria. CoP18 Prop. 43 to include blackchin guitarfish Glaucostegus cemiculus and the sharpnose guitarfish, Glaucostegus granulatus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and inclusion of all other giant guitarfish, Glaugostegus spp. in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 43 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 44 to include white-spotted wedgefish, Rhynchobatus australiae and Rhynchobatus djiddensis in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). Insufficient Data to make a CITES determination
2019The sixth FAO Expert Advisory Panel for the Assessment of Proposals to Amend Appendices I and II of CITES Concerning Commercially-exploited Aquatic Species was held at FAO headquarters from 21 to 25 January 2019. The Panel was convened in response to the agreement by the twenty-fifth session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) on the terms of reference for an expert advisory panel for assessment of proposals to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and to the endorsement of the twenty-sixth session of COFI to convene the Panel for relevant proposals to future CITES Conference of the Parties. The objectives of the Panel were to: i. assess each proposal from a scientific perspective in accordance with the CITES biological listing criteria (Resolution Conf. 9.24 [Rev. CoP17]; ii. comment, as appropriate, on technical aspects of the proposal in relation to biology, ecology, trade and management issues, as well as, to the extent possible, the likely effectiveness for conservation. The Panel considered the following four proposals submitted to the eighteenth Conference of the Parties to CITES: CoP18 Prop. 42 to include mako shark, Isurus oxyrinchus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and Isurus paucus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 42 concluded that the available data do not provide evidence that the species meets the CITES Appendix II listing criteria. CoP18 Prop. 43 to include blackchin guitarfish Glaucostegus cemiculus and the sharpnose guitarfish, Glaucostegus granulatus in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a) and inclusion of all other giant guitarfish, Glaugostegus spp. in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(b). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 43 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 44 to include white-spotted wedgefish, Rhynchobatus australiae and Rhynchobatus djiddensis in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). The FAO Expert Panel assessment of proposal 44 concluded that there was insufficient evidence to make a determination against the CITES criteria. CoP18 Prop. 45 to include the subgenus Holothuria (Microthele): Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria nobilis and Holothuria whitmaei in Appendix II in accordance with Article II paragraph 2(a). Le comité s'est réuni à la suite de la vingt-cinquième session de la Comité des Pêches de la FAO (COFI) sur les termes de référence d'un comité consultatif d'experts chargé d'évaluer les propositions relatives à la Convention sur le commerce international des espèces de faune et de flore sauvages menacées d'extinction (CITES) et à l'approbation de la vingt-sixième session du COFI pour convoquer le groupe d'experts chargé d'examiner les propositions pertinentes à la future conférence des parties à la CITES. Les objectifs du groupe étaient les suivants: (i) évaluer chaque proposition d'un point de vue scientifique conformément aux critères d'inscription biologique de la CITES (résolution Conf. 9.24 [Rev. CoP17]; (ii) commenter, comme approprié, les aspects techniques de la proposition en relation avec les questions de biologie, d'écologie, de commerce et de gestion, ainsi que, dans la mesure du possible, l'efficacité probable de la conservation. Le comité a examiné les quatre propositions suivantes, soumises à la dix-huitième Conférence des Parties à la CITES: La CoP18 Prop. 42 visant à inclure le requin mako, Isurus oxyrinchus à l'Annexe II, conformément à l’article II, paragraphe 2(a) et Isurus paucus à l’Annexe II conformément à l’article II, paragraphe 2(b). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 42 a conclu que les données disponibles ne permettent pas de prouver que l’espèce est conforme aux critères d’inscription à l’Annexe II de la CITES. La CoP18 Prop. 43 visant à inclure le raie poisson-guitare (blackchin guitarfish) Glaucostegus cemiculus, et le poisson-guitare a nez pointu (sharpnose guitarfish) Glaucostegus granulatus à l’Annexe II, conformément à l’article II paragraphe 2(a) et inclusion de tous les autres poissons-guitare géants, Glaugostegus spp. conformément à l’article II, paragraphe 2(b). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 43 a conclu que les preuves étaient insuffisantes pour permettre de se prononcer sur les critères de la CITES. La CoP18 Prop. 44 visant à inclure le poisson-coin à taches blanches (white-spotted wedgefish) Rhynchobatus australiae et Rhynchobatus djiddensis à l'Annexe II conformément à l’article II paragraphe 2 (a). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 44 a conclu que les preuves étaient insuffisantes pour permettre de se prononcer sur les critères de la CITES. La CoP18 Prop. 45 visant à inclure le sous-genre Holothuria (Microthele): Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria nobilis et Holothuria whitmaei à l'Annexe II conformément à l'Article II, paragraphe 2 (a). Le comité d’experts de la FAO pour l’évaluation de la proposition 45 a conclu que les données disponibles sur Holothuria fuscogilva ne sont pas satisfaisantes. Il n’existait pas suffisamment de preuves pour déterminer une décision pour Holothuria nobilis et Holothuria whitmaei satisfaisait les critères d’inscription à l’Annexe II de la CITES.
