Deux ans après le premier Groupe de travail ad hoc sur les ressources démersales de la Mauritanie au Libéria, cette deuxième réunion avait pour principal objet de tenter d'apprécier l'amélioration apportée à la connaissance des performances de la pêche et des potentiels spécifiques ou régionaux. Ce groupe s'est réuni au Centre de recherches océanographiques de Dakar-Thiaroye (CRODT), Sénégal, sous la présidence de F. Lhomme. Le projet COPACE 1 tient à rendre à nouveau hommage à la coopération de MM Sauger, Directeur géneral de l'Institut sénégalais de recherches agricoles (ISRA) et Fontana, Directeur du CRODT.

The survey tracks and fishing stations worked are shown in Figure 1. When steaming south after departure from Dakar on August 17 the shelf was followed so that a track along the banks was obtained.
