Synopsis (short abstract) The CPF reviews the status of agriculture in Zambia and provides an analysis of sector-specific challenges and opportunities. Suitable areas for FAO intervention are identified and justified in accordance with FAO’s comparative advantages, GRZ priorities, UNDAF outcomes and FAO strategic objectives. It is supported by annexes, including i) CPF alignment with other policy documents and frameworks; ii) a results matrix; and iii) a matrix showing resource requirements. The process of developing CP F involved broad consultations with GRZ and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector including development partners. This process brought out areas of FAO’s comparative advantages which were reviewed to ensure alignment with agriculture sector national priorities.

    Summary. This Country Programme Framework (CPF) for Namibia, as agreed upon by the Government of the Republic of Namibia (GRN) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), covers a five year period from 2014 to 2018 in alignment with the Fourth National Development Plan and its related Sectoral Plans. The CPF is a need-based planning and management tool that establishes the manner in which FAO will support Namibia’s development priorities, drawing on its global experien ces and comparative advantage in areas within its mandate. Its timing is opportune as the Government of the Republic of Namibia committed itself towards accelerated economic growth, increased income quality; and sustained employment opportunities for its citizens.

    This Country Programming Framework (CPF) sets out four priority areas to guide FAO partnership with the Government of Oman - bringing together innovative international best practices and global standards with national and regional expertise during three years from 2013 to 2015. This document contains areas and activities for FAO’s technical assistance in support of the attainment of Oman’s agriculture, fisheries, natural resources and rural development related objectives including food and nutri tion security, gender and capacity development. The CPF is jointly owned and led by the Sultanate of Oman through the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MOAF) and FAO. It is therefore framed within and governed by the national medium-term development priorities articulated in Oman Strategy Vision 2020 and stipulated in the eighth Five Year Development Plan 2010-2015 that set out the priority policies and investments for achieving growth, employment and prosperity. The CPF was prepared follow ing extensive consultation with different stakeholders including government, private sector and civil society organizations. The CPF priority areas are consistent with FAO’s strategic framework and aligned with the FAO’s sub-regional and regional priorities.
