DESCRIPTION

The global dairy sector is strongly committed to advancing the 2030 Agenda through the SDGs, recognizing its role in benefiting both people and planet. Central to this commitment is SDG 5 (Gender Equality). Despite significant efforts, much of this work remains unrecognized.

The Women in Dairy Report by the International Dairy Federation (IDF) brings these efforts to light, exploring global initiatives aimed at empowering women in the dairy sector. This publication provides insights into how women thrive and tackle challenges within transformative food systems. It features a diverse array of initiatives and research linked to SDG 5, spanning the entire dairy value chain – from farming and industry to research, policy and governance.

By showcasing these global initiatives, the report not only raises awareness but also inspires further action. It serves as a call to the dairy community and beyond, encouraging the adoption of practices that foster gender equality and drive sustainable progress.
