Since Comoros joined the Organization in 1977, a variety of interventions have been delivered across the food and agriculture sector. Assistance has included capacity building, institutional strengthening and policy formulation as well as direct support to development projects. Current cooperation efforts are geared towards increasing agricultural production, particularly food products, and protecting natural resources – with an emphasis on agroforestry development. Strengthening agricultural data collection and information systems is another priority area.

Over the past 15 years, FAO assistance to Belize has been delivered through approximately 85 interventions, including a focus on policy advice, advocacy and capacity building as well as emergency assistance and resource mobilization for the food and agriculture sector. More recently, resilience building and expansion of market access have become important features of cooperation. FAO’s support continues to be instrumental today, particularly in view of the country’s commitment to achieving food security and rural development.

The partnership between FAO and Turkey has thrived since the establishment of the country office in 1982 and the Subregional Office for Central Asia in 2007 in Ankara. Today, cooperation continues to prosper through implementation of the FAO-Turkey Partnership Programmes on Food and Agriculture and on Forestry. The country has benefited from wide-ranging assistance from FAO and is at the same time an active resource partner, providing indispensable technical and financial support to FAO’s activities, particularly within the Central Asian subregion.
