    La question des pertes agricoles et du gaspillage alimentaire est devenue essentielle.C’est dans ce contexte que nous avons l’honneur de présenter l’édition 2016 de Mediterra, qui aborde toutes ces problématiques du gaspillage et propose des solutions innovantes tout en suggérant des recommandations politiques pour la gestion durable des ressources naturelles, de la nourriture et des connaissances en Méditerranée.
    La première partie fait le point sur les gaspillages de chacune des re ssources naturelles, gaspillages bien réels qui appellent une remise en question dans le contexte particulièrement contraint de la Méditerranée. La deuxième partie, consacrée aux pertes agricoles et aux gâchis alimentaires (produits de la terre et de la mer) dont on découvre l’ampleur, identifie en même temps des pistes d’action pour améliorer la sécurité alimentaire mais aussi, par ricochet, la gestion des ressources. La troisième partie alerte sur l’érosion des savoir-faire, le défaut de diffu sion des connaissances, le risque d’effondrement de modèles traditionnels d’agriculture et la nécessité de redécouvrir de nouveaux systèmes de connaissances et d’innovations.
