No results found.The Natural Inquirer is an integrated science education journal for students aged 11-14. In the United States where the journal was first published, the Natural Inquirer presents research from scientists working in the United States Department of Agriculture's Forest Service. This edition of the Natural Inquirer presents the results of a worldwide effort to understand the world’s forests, organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, or FAO. The report fr om which this Natural Inquirer was created is the Global Forest Resources Assessment 2010. It contains information from 233 countries and territories around the world. This is the second edition of the World's Forests Natural Inquirer. The first was published in 2008 and was based on the Global Forest Resources Assessment 2005. -

No results found.This beautifully illustrated learning guide aims to introduce students aged 8–13 to the many aspects and roles of forests. It accompanies and complements the Forests for kids teaching guide, tying in with curricula in the fields of science, geography and citizenship, among others. The modules focus on defining forests, investigating their role in the water cycle, exploring some of their products and introducing students to sustainable forest management. Drawing inspiration from the internationa lly recognized enquiry method, the modules promote “learning by doing”, in classrooms or under the trees, although reading and writing exercises are also included.
